About The Nittany Quill
Walking down Fraser Street, you may have passed the windows of The Nittany Quill decorated with beautifully designed, hand-made cards, wedding invitations, and framed quotes. The talented artist Joy Rodgers-Mernin has been the owner of The Nittany Quill since its start in 1984, after she and her husband returned to State College from Boston. The store is filled with Joy’s hand-made paper products, charming printed journals, pens, and even paper earrings. What started out as a small art supply store on Fraser Street is now a business offering an intimate experience with beautiful artwork created by Joy, as well as many other items carefully selected by Joy for her customers.

Every time I come to State College, I make time for a visit to The Nittany Quill. Sometimes you just want to see merchandise in person and not order online. If you love stationary, you will love this store.

One of the really coolest and cutest stores in the downtown area. The owner is soo friendly and sweet! Love her fantasy calligraphy work, soo cool. Artists would love this amazing place. :)

This shop is imaginative and special. I love going into the Nittany Quill. I might be in the market for some truly special cards and then I find some amazing things for gifts. Or maybe I am looking specifically for a meaningful calligraphy item and find wrapping paper and ribbons that are irresistible. I love that every time I go there, there is something new to catch my eye.
